Kerala ( God's own Country )

Kaladi in Kerala, the sacred birthplace of Adi Sankaracharya, the founder of the Advaita philosophy is a revered place visited by a large number of pilgrims. It is a small typical Kerala village located near the Kochi city. It has a story to tell. Once the widowed mother of young Sankara was on her way to the river Poorna, she fainted suddenly. Due to the pathetic condition of her mother Sankara prayed to Lord Krishna. Krishna paved a way wishing to originate the river at the point of feet where Sankara stood. Hence it is known as Kaladi and the pilgrims visit this holy spot to view its shrines.  It is seen here now the unusual turn of the river towards Sringeri Mutt.

Kaladi is now included in the pilgrimage tour to Kerala due to the devotee’s fondness to this holy place. Kaladi now houses temples dedicated to Sri Sankara, Sarada Devi, and Sri Krishna.  A tourist can explore the holy centers of Kaladi booking a Kerala tour with Indian Memoirz.
